Tomoato peas rice is a very easy recipe and can be done in just 15 to 30mins..The method I have given below will be really easy to prepare this dish even for the beginners..
Ingredients :
Basmati Rice-2Cups - 2 1/2 cups water
Green peas -1 Cup(frozen or fresh)
Tomatoes - 3
cumin seeds
Cloves
Bay leaf
Onion - 1 large
Red chilli powder - 1/2 or 1 tsp - as needed
Ginger powder - a pinch
Dhania Powder - 1/4tsp
Salt
Cilantro
Things to keep ready:
Take 3 tomatoes,peel it or just put the 2 tomatoes in a blender and make a juice.keep it aside
How to Cook:
--Wash and soak the Basmati rice for 15 minand and cook well in a large pan..
-- add a tsp of oil to the rice so that the rice will not stick to each other
--once its cooked turn off the flame and let it cool
Next Step:
--In a large pan,heat up some oil, add cumin seeds,bay leaf,cloves,onions saute well till it truns golden brown.
--Now add the tomato puree,add some oil and cover the lid.Now add salt,Red chilli powder,a pinch of ginger powder and keep stirring till the oil separates..
--Add 1 cup of peas,mix and cook well
-- once its all well cooked turn off the flame
--Now add this mixture to the well cooked rice slowly and mix well
Thatsit.Serve it with Raita..
Tips:
Alternate method to cook peas:
--Take 1 cup peas add some oil to it and cook it in the microwave for 6mins to speed up the process(This step is optional)
--Now add the cooked peas to the mixture..
-U can also ginger-garlic paste when sauting all the other ingredients.
